Don’t miss out on this great Michigan Studies activity for your 3^rd or 4^th grade students! Register soon for one of the TWICE Michigan Week Connections projects.

Registration closes April 4, 2008. Project connections take place May 5-16, 2008. Registration information, teacher preparation packets, tips and ideas, are available at http://www.twice.cc/MI. Teachers will register for Michigan Exchange Projects at Collaborations Around the Planet, as they did for Read Around the Planet. Teachers wanting to participate in Where in Michigan? will register here.

Where in Michigan? is a 2 hour multi-point connection where students present clues about a city in Michigan and try to guess the city based on the information presented. Usually 4-6 classes participate in each session. Michigan Exchange Projects are 45 minute point-to-point connections where partner classes each share a 15 minute presentation about their community and then spend 15 minutes asking each other questions about their respective communities. Both projects are wonderful learning collaborations, so sign up and take part in this great activity!

TWICE offers two participation options: Where in Michigan? and Michigan Exchange Project. Sites participating in the Michigan Exchange Project must have their videoconferencing equipment verified to ensure compatibility of equipment between partnering schools. If your site was verified for Read Around the Planet, you are already verified for Michigan Week Exchange and can skip this step.
